President Julius Maada Bio has visited and expressed his condolences with families in the two most affected flood communities of Wellington and Tombo. Addressing affected family members and mourners at Wellington President Bio said his visit to the community was not with happiness but rather sadness. He consoled bereaved families stressing that his visit was to assure them that government thinks and feels with them and that they will assist all sectors that have been affected. Bio said the problem with most flood disasters in the capital in particular were as a result of over population on the hilltop area where residents had constructed houses on waterways from the hills. He encouraged contractors to be mindful of where they construct houses pointing out that if houses are constructed on waterways the only option for running water from the hills will be to find other route which in many cases leads to disasters.
