John Conteh is accused of stealing a black motorcycle helmet from Suleiman Kamara of Babadori, Lumley, on Sunday 13 October 2019, contrary to the Larceny Act 1916. If found guilty, the accused could go to prison for up to seven years. The accused has already spent seven weeks in prison. Two witnesses have given evidence against Conteh, also a resident of Babadori, Spur Loop. Conteh appeared before Magistrate Abdul Sherriff of Magistrate Court No. 3 on Pademba Road in Freetown, on Friday 22 November 2019, for his second appearance in Court. Joseph Tucker, a junior secondary school pupil, said Conteh is a friend and he knows the complainant, Suleiman Kamara. On Sunday 13 October 2019, Tucker said he saw the accused with a black motorcycle helmet. He said when he got home, he met his uncle who told him that his helmet had been stolen. The witness said that he told his uncle that he saw the accused with a similar helmet. He said he and his uncle tried to find Conteh but ended up at the Wilberforce Police Station where they made a statement.
