Commissioner William Atuguba will hear closing submissions from counsel representing the former board Chair and the former Chief Executive Officer of the Road Maintenance Fund Administration (RMFA), former Director of Sierra Leone Road Authority (SLRA) and others today, Tuesday 21st January 2020.MThe Commission was expecting to receive oral submissions from counsel representing yesterday, Monday 20th January 2020, but were not available as per schedule hence, the need for adjournment of the Commission at an early hour yesterday. Lawyer M.Y. Kanu, one of the lawyers representing the former Director General of SLRA, Abdulai Aziz Kamara, pleaded to have his submission postponed to today. He said he was a bit taken aback when his client, Abdul Aziz Kamara, was listed among former officials of RMFA, while he was the former Director General of SLRA. Counsel M.Y. Kanu said besides the fact that there is a nexus between the two in terms of awarding road contracts and financing of such contracts, there is as a bearing between the two that the Commission is dealing with as a whole.
