The Cricket Association has invited 18 players to a training camp ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup – Africa Men’s Sub regional Qualifier, slated for 25th April to 4th May 2020, in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
The 18 players include:
George Edward Ngegba, Lansana Lamin, Brima Ansumana, Edward Marrah, Chernoh Bah, Osman Thomas Sankoh, Mohammed Shamshad Khan, Saheb Khan, Haroun Kamara, Abu Bakarr Kamara, Zahid Khan, Ibrahim Sinneh Kamara, Abass Gbla, Mohammed Pagal Mansaray, Solomon Williams, Jacob Mansaray, Balowa Mansaray and Joseph Kamannoh.
Sierra Leone has been drawn in Group B with Botswana, Tanzania, Mozambique, Cameroon and St Helena. The tournament will be played under 20-Over format on a round robin basis. Thirteen countries or teams will be participating and have been drawn into two groups of seven in group A and six teams in group B. The winners of each group will join Kenya and Nigeria in the Africa Final, provisionally scheduled for June 2020.
The groups are as follows:
Group A: Uganda, Ghana, Lesotho, Malawi, Rwanda, Seychelles, and Swaziland
Group B: Botswa, Cameroon, Mozambique, Tanzania, Sierra Leone and St Helena
