The Deep Eye Water Community has been crowned champions of this year’s Western Area Rural District Football Association League (WARDFA) Chairman’s Trophy with a lone goal during the early minutes of the second half of play. Kasho Holland-Cole said the next edition of the league will provide something different to the premier league, division players and players outside the district will be allowed because they want to use such a league to identify players that will be representing the district. Cole encouraged each community team to develop a female team. He expressed disappointment over the behaviour of some fans after the match. Both coaches congratulated each other and said football is all about such results. The match was tight for both teams but the lucky side carried the day said coach Bah of Deep Eye Water Community. On behalf of the Western Area Rural District Football Association, Joseph Fahoud Jeffrey, Secretary General of WARDFA, congratulated the two finalists.
