Driver discharged after guilty plea to wounding

A motor driver named Abdulai Jalloh pleaded guilty to one count of Wounding with intent at the Siaka Stevens Street High Court in Freetown on Wednesday 27th November 2019. This was his first appearance before the presiding Justice Alusine Sesay. The allegation against him was that on 30th May 2019, he wounded Abass Kamara. According to the convict, the victim Abass Kamara was his colleague driver. He said Kamara and two others ganged up against him during the fight. The medical report showed that Jalloh wounded Kamara on the head. After his guilty plea, his defense counsel, Cecelia Tucker pleaded for mercy on his behalf and asked that he be given the opportunity to make good use of his life. Justice Sesay advised Jalloh to always control his temper adding that because the medical report was not grievous, he will caution and discharged him.
