“FA president inspired me to be more active in football” – Aminata Suma

The Team Manager (TM ) of Sierra Leone Correctional Service male football team, Aminata Suma, has said Sierra Leone Football Association President, Isha Johansen inspired her to be more involved in footballing activities. Before that, she said she’d invested years in area leagues before starting to watch and follow local and international leagues. She said being a female TM of a male team is a very good experience, and she is being given the needed support by both players and the Correctional Service management. Despite their many challenges, Suma said they are doing everything in their power to qualify the team to the Sierra Leone Premier League.

She revealed that they have seven sporting disciplines at the Correctional Service Sports Club, including football (male and female), athletics (male and female), boxing (male and female), cricket (female), table tennis, volleyball, and handball. She said all these disciplines are registered and certified with the various authorities/bodies.

TM Suma said historically, the Prison Sports Club, renamed Correctional Service Sports Club, has been in existence for over two decades, and has made tremendous achievements in terms of promoting all sporting disciplines in the country.
