The Christ the King Church Football Club (CKC FC), on Saturday 11th January 2020, won their first football friendly match against KWAMA FC by one goal to nil (1-0) at the Kissy Town Mini Stadium. The friendly match was organized by the management of Radio VOPAD FM 96.5 in Kissy Town Waterloo. Manager of the radio station, Joseph Lamin, said the match was organized to raise funds for the radio. Lamin expressed appreciations to both team management and fans. The lone goal was scored by Daniel Turay aka Wonder Boy of CKC FC in the 85th minute of play with a powerful right foot strike out of the 18-yard box. “This is my first ever goal for the team since I joined the club,” Turay said. “The goal and victory is dedicated to the fans of CKC FC Boys fans as their holiday and New Years gift.h Head Coach of KWAMA FC, Stapha Jallon, said the host did all they could to get the victory and they got it and commended the CKC FC for their outstanding performance. CKC FC boys head coach, Ishmael Kamara, said last year they were challenged as the team took part in several football tournaments but was unable to reach any of the finals. He described last season as a bad season for the team but said they learnt a lot over the past year. Coach Kamara said this 2020 is a year of victory for the team; he assured the fans and football lovers in the Western Area Rural District.
