Former President Koroma’s properties valued at over $12.5m

Properties belonging to former President Ernest Bai Koroma on Femi Turner Drive, Roburah, Mayerah and Sylvanus Road, were valued $12,534,500 USD, according to Christopher Olu Campbell, a Valuator at the Commission of Inquiry. Campbell testified before Commissioner Bankole Thompson of the Commission of Inquiry at the former Special Court compound on Tuesday 26th November 2019, after Justice Thompson ruled that the assets of the former president should be made public. Ernest Bai Koroma served as President of Sierra Leone from 2007 to 2018, and the Commission of Inquiry is currently probing his assets to determine if his assets show any unexplained wealth and are in line with his salary as President. According to evidence presented at the Commission, former President Koroma worked for 124 months as president and earned a salary of Le2.740 billion.
