Jury panels in murder trials discharged

High Court, Justice John Bosco Alieu has on Monday 4th November 2019 discharged the jury panels in two separate murder cases. The first file in which the jury panel was discharged is the matter against Aminata Bangura. The allegation is that the accused on on 18th August 2018 at ‘Burn One’, Pademba Road in Freetown, murdered Bockerie Kargbo, her husband. The second matter in which the jury panel was discharged is the matter against Alimamy Bangura. The allegation is that the accused on 19th September 2018, at Angola Town in Freetown, murdered Alieu Kamara. The reason for the discharge of the jury panel according to the prosecutor, Kabba Conteh is as a result of the continuous absenteeism of jurors in the matters. Both matter have been rescheduled for 25th November 2019. No bail was granted to the accused persons.
