Kamboi Eagles suffer first loss

Sierra Leone Premier League leaders Kamboi Eagles suffered their first loss of the season after 1-0 defeat at the feet of FC Johansen on Wednesday 5th February 2020 at the National Stadium in Freetown. The only goal was scored in the 5th minute of the game by forward, Melvin Davies. The victory was a crucial three points for the host team who now have 13 points after their third straight win. The Eagles remain top of the table with 19 points. After Wednesday’s match, FC Johansen coach, Abdulai Kaloga Bah, said, “We deserved to win because we have been playing well. However, we are still in the process of rebuilding the team to reach its full potential. The team spirit and confidence is improving match after match since our first victory. That has been the turning point to our season,” he said. It was the first goal scored against the Kamboi Eagles since the League started in December last year. FC Johansen will play their next match on Sunday 9th February 2020, against the defending champion East End Lions. According to FC Johansen coach Bah they will focus and look forward to another win. While Ibrahim Sesay, a fan of Lions said they are going for a win on Sunday. On Saturday 8th February 2020, FC Kallon will host Central Parade and today Friday 7th February East End Tigers will host Ports Authority.
