Orange SL has taken a look on its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its human resource over the past 11 months. The company has pride itself in giving back to society under its Corporate Social Responsibility and Human Resource portfolios, and that they have done this year, as they have already planned for the entire year of 2019. Taking a look back CEO Madam Aminata Kane Ndiaye said by pouring around Le2 billion in various CSR projects in 2017 and 2018, they will not relent as they aim to increase that amount in 2020. Its contribution to the Free Quality Education is huge and significant with the disbursing of over USD1.5 million in material support with the designing of five projects to be rolled out in the next five years. She said the five projects are all geared towards supporting government’s flagship project in capacity building for teachers, menstrual hygiene management for school girl’s, development of laboratories and innovative capacity of pupils in the country. Orange Sierra Leone’s partnership with the Directorate of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) by building Sierra Leone’s first coding school was a milestone in rolling the private sector’s unflinching support to actualize the President’s dream of using technology and innovation as an engine to trigger the much needed economic development.
