Sierra Leone News: New Infantry Brigade in the Eastern Region

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) have intimated print and electronic media personnel on Thursday 29th September, 2019 that it has already commenced implementing the plan to establish a new infantry brigade in the eastern Region. According to Staff Officer Grade 2, Major Yayah Brima, Defence Public Relation and Information, “the new Brigade Headquarters will be located in Kenema with a component of three infantry battalions, which will be deployed to operationally cover Kenema, Kailahun and Kono Districts” he noted. Major Brima went on to say that the first step in implementing the plan, is that three senior military officers have been designated to spearhead the new infantry brigade. “Colonel AS Bockarie has been appointed as Acting Brigade Commander, Lieutenant Colonel HS Jalloh and Lieutenant Colonel MAB Koroma as Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff respectively” he added.
