The media team of the Sierra Leone Football Association has said the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Sierra Leone Football Association Secretariat (Technical and Admin centre) has drawn close to completion. The formal handing over of the fully refurbished building is expected to be done by the project Contractor Gouji Construction and Investment Company (SL) Limited, before the end of this year. They said the Project which is fully funded by the world governing body for football FIFA started on the 9th May, 2016 and was meant to have lasted for exactly one year. However, because of the infighting in the country’s football which at some point led to FIFA suspending their findings on SLFA, the rehabilitation process has taken by far longer than expected. The General Secretary of the Sierra Leone football Association Christopher Kamara has expressed outright disappointment over the delay on the renovation of the centre, blaming it on the internal wrangling and indifference which have clearly disrupted the progress and development of the country’s largely cherished game.
