Stakeholders benefit from training on first aid

In preparation to commemorate World First Aid Day, the Sierra Leone Red Cross, on Friday 13th September 2019, conducted training session for some stakeholders on first aid, at the conference room of the office of the Vice President, on Tower Hill in Freetown. In the conference hall, were some military personnel, staff of different government ministries, and staff of the Vice President’s office. The training session was to enlighten them on first aid treatment, and the theme for this year’s celebration is “Addressing exclusion through first aid.” Some of the recommended ways to revive an ill person is through chest compression, and breathing of air into an ill person by way of giving life support to the ill person. The training session focused on how to revive or provide first aid (an initial care given by a responder with little equipment to save someone who is injured) treatment to people who may face health complications before the arrival of a doctor or before taken to the hospital.
