Sylvia Blyden’s file with law officers for legal advice – Dir. Crime services

Director of Crime Service, Brima Jah has confirmed that erstwhile Minister of Social Welfare, Gender and Children Affairs, Sylvia Blyden’s file has been taken to the law officers department for legal advice. On Thursday 21st May 2020, Jah during a police press briefing at the Officers Mess Kingtom in Freetown, said Blyden was investigated for Subversion, seditious libel, incitement and perverting the cause of justice. He furthered that when the police searched computers found at Blyden’s residence they saw video clips that are “very insulting by nature, derogatory statements and statements that would cause unrest.” He added that there is a particular video clip in which she referred to President Julius Maada Bio as a human right violator, and the current Minister of Finance, Jacob Jusu Saffa as Mr. Ignorant. Jah said Blyden also made a publication on the detention of former Minister of Defence, Alfred Palo Conteh that would trigger unrest.      In another development, Jah also informed the press that the five SL Mining workers that were arrested few days ago have  granted bail by the Sierra Leone Police on two conditions. He said the five SL mining workers were asked to report to the Sierra Leone police every day and that they should not go to the mines in Lunsar. Jah also confirmed that the five SL Mining workers also have a file at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in which they are being investigated for defrauding Sierra Leoneans.
